Seasons

Hello Beautiful Momma!

Have you noticed how wonderfully God created the world we live in? Ahh I love all the changing colors of fall, the excitement of snow and the anticipation of spring blossoms. I can’t decide what my favorite season is because there is something beautiful in every single one!

Motherhood can be like this too. There are times of waiting, anticipating, praying, sowing, and enjoying sweet harvest. It’s important to  understand that each season is there for only a time. Once we grasp that, and start living forward, our whole perspective is changed. No matter what we go through, there is something beautiful to embrace in every season of life.

For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven. {Ecc. 3.1}

Focus on the positive in your life. Yes, even if you have to fight to find it, momma. If you have a roof over your head and clean water, you’re already doing better than the rest of the world.

Whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. {Phil. 4.8}

Right now I’m in a transitional season of life. 12 days ago I watched my life get packed into a million boxes by movers that I didn’t know, and caught a flight two-thousand-plus miles across country to a place I would call home. We have been living in a hotel for about a week and closed on a house today.

Instead of focusing on the fact that I should have packed more clothes for the kids or that I forgot a couple items, I made the decision to embrace this time. With the three pans our hotel provided us, I took time to cook a delicious meal for my family and light a candle for the dinner table. I listened to worship music and danced in the living room with my kids, stepping over their socks left on the floor and a forgotten cheeto.

Change.

Anticipation.

I think there is something absolutely beautiful about this messy thing called life.

Exhilarating.

Renewing.

I’m choosing not to focus on the fact that my son was whiny half the evening or that my toddler was fussy today. The Good Lord knows that bedtime is around the corner and tomorrow will be a new day full of do-overs and beautiful new beginnings.

Grace.

Tea.
