Hello Beautiful Momma!

Are you snowed in? Iced-in?

North Carolina was in complete panic-mode when the weatherman predicted snow. I barely made it in time to the grocery store before the last piece of chicken was snatched.

You’d think we were preparing for the apocalypse.

At least our freezer is stocked for a month now.

Better safe than hungry.

And we did get 5 inches.

By nature I would much prefer a warm blanket of sunshine than cold. But I have to admit…the crunch of fresh white powder is hard to resist when the sky is blue and the kids are inviting you outside!

But you won’t find me out there without a thermos in hand.

Hot chocolate is fine too.

Mostly though, I can’t believe we are already 8 days into the new year.

What has been on your mind?

Perhaps you set a goal for yourself and are going strong. Or maybe, you’re finding yourself feeling discouraged. Comparing yourself to someone else.

Strive for progress, not perfection.

Be kind to yourself.

Change happens gradually.

Weeks. Months.

Oftentimes, years.

Take one day at a time.

God is already there.

Relying on God has to begin all over again every day,
as if nothing had yet been done.
– C.S. Lewis

I recently watched Kristina Kuzmic’s video (below) and it really made me think.

Although our Maker ultimately holds our destiny in the palm of His hand, oftentimes our own perspective is what drives our life a certain direction.

What’s something good that happened to you today?

Imagine if all of us wrote 365 things we’re grateful for.

I’m thankful for a random sweet and precious kiss my baby girl gave me. She was napping in my arms, opened her eyes, gave me a kiss, and went back to sleep.

I think I’ll just bottle that up and hold onto it forever.

There is so much power in perspective.

We have so much to be grateful for. It’s up to us what we choose to concentrate on.

If you wake up with the subconscious expectation that your day will be hard, chances are that it will be.

So whether spoken or not, what are we as wives, as mothers…proclaiming into our lives?

Speaking into the destiny of our children?

What are we thankful for?

Scripture calls us to take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ. {2 Cor. 10.5}

Every thought.

Every idea.

Every viewpoint.

Instead of focusing on outward behavior alone, ask God to work on changing our mind for this is where our actions stem from.

Start from the heart, hunger for God, and see where He faithfully takes you. Surely God is always on the move.

Blessings & love!

Family selfie! How I love these faces.

Get in my belly. Hubby made biscuits from scratch.

I always notice small details. Captured this beauty in our yard.

Snow angels are a must.

Can I bottle this up too? Baby sis napping on big brother.

This is a must when you’re snowed in. Cuddles and more cuddles.

Ventured out back today. It was so pretty.

Snowy sunsets.

Can’t trek the snow too long in these. It was wonderful while it lasted.
